National Day of Remembrance and Action on violence against Women

December 6th marks the anniversary of the murders of 14 women at L’Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in 1989.

Please join us on this day, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on violence against Women, as we pay tribute to these women who were murdered because they were women, and to the countless women who have been victims and survivors of gender-based violence.

Please watch our video event, and light a candle, to remember and rededicate ourselves to the fight against gender-based violence in our communities. Gone, but not forgotten.

To recognize the reality of gender-based violence that continues in our communities daily, we have a keynote speech in a separate video, by Lori Michelin, a female first responder who has been witness to these calls and the trauma it inflicts on families, first responders and our neighbourhoods. Please watch her video to recognize that we are all needed to take action and make change.
